Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actress, best known for her roles in the movies Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! In the 80s, she began acting and was a hit with her role of Tezaab, in which she co-starred with famous actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared along with her. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she took up dancing as a child. At the age of 15 when she began to act, she had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. She eventually found success and went on to become one of the leading actresses in the Indian industry of film. After marriage, she had one year off prior to returning to the entertainment industry. Dixit was the main character for the film Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit is nominated in 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these, she has won 8. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize for civilians India, was bestowed upon her. Her contribution to the social industry is widely known.
