Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The worldwide success of his career has seen his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. His hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. His debut album ADN was issued by La Industria Inc., an Medellin-based Sony distribution firm. The album reached the number 8 spot on the Top Latin Albums chart. Vaina Loca was a Top Five hit for Ozuna and him in the following year. In 2020, he dropped his second album charting Dopamina and co-wrote Mala Influencia together with Noriel. In 2021, he appeared in a duo performance with TINI for her online single Maldita Foto. The year 2023 was when the hit La Bachata was released. Turizo was born into a musical household both his parents are both musicians. In interviews, he has stated that music is compulsory. At the age of a young child, he started learning to play saxophone guitar ukulele and piano. Although his first choice of career was a career as a vet his brother Julian advised him to go for lessons in singing with an Cuban instructor.
