Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age of five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress from the age of at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy with part-time courses. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film is 2001's top grossing film, breaking records at the opening as well as the first weekend. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Then Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in an feature Film.
